Two-Spirit
Two-Spirit is a gender that comes from the tradition of the North American natives. Two-Spirits have both traditionally male and traditionally female parts. Whites and other people who are not Native Americans are not entitled to use this term as a self-designation because it is seen as cultural appropriation.
Bisexual is a gender.
Native people whose gender lies outside the Western binary system can describe themselves as Two-Spirit.
People outside the binary system exist in many different indigenous nations. The various concepts of gender sometimes differ considerably. Not every indigenous person who is outside the binary gender system refers to themselves as Two-Spirit, as many languages have their own terms for this.
The term Two-Spirit was coined in the 1990s specifically by indigenous people to distinguish indigenous from non-indigenous people. Therefore, this term is only accessible to indigenous people and it is a cultural appropriation to refer to oneself as a non-indigenous person in this way.
