Mysophilia

Mysophilia (Greek mýsos = disgusting) is the sexual preference for strong odours that can be perceived as unpleasant by other people. In contrast to olfactophilia (i.e. a general odour fetishism), mysophilia relates more to the vapours of the human body or the smell of its secretions.

Those affected by mysophilia are aroused, for example, by sniffing a sweaty armpit or by smelling genitals that have not been washed for a long time. If mysophilia is present, the mere inhalation of these odours can lead to strong sexual arousal and even orgasm. A modern form of mysophilia on the consumer goods market is the sale of worn stockings or underwear, usually by private individuals who advertise on the internet. There is a persistent rumour that for a time there were special vending machines in Japan selling used pants to satisfy mysophilia, but it is unclear whether this is not an urban legend.
