Fingering
Fingering (also known as fingering or digital penetration) refers to the sexual satisfaction of the vulva, vagina or anus with the fingers or hand. In this respect, fingering differs from the related practice of fisting, in which several fingers or even one or more hands, i.e. fists, are inserted into the vagina (brachiovaginal) or anus (brachioproctal) in order to induce sexual arousal and even orgasm.
Touching is a manual act defined as sexual contact between the sexual organs of one person and the hand or hands of another person. ‘Fingering’ as a term describes sexual interaction, i.e. sexual acts or activities that two or more people perform with each other, but can also be an expression of sexual (autoerotic) activity in the sense of masturbation; ‘fingering oneself’ is a synonym for female masturbation. It is the female equivalent of the male handjob (manual stimulation of the penis) and can be performed as a penetrative or non-penetrative sexual act. It is to be distinguished from fisting or similar sexual practices. The difference between a sexual act or activity and a sexual interaction is that a sexual interaction must involve at least two people, whereas a sexual act can also be performed with oneself.
