Stretching rack

The rack is a historical instrument of torture. It dates back to the Middle Ages and was used to extort confessions from alleged criminals and witches.
The medieval rack consists of a kind of table with shackles for arms and legs. A mechanism was used to stretch the victim's arms and legs. The victim, who was clamped into the stretching bench, initially felt a very unpleasant tension all over their body. Further pulling on the arms and legs tightened the joints, causing severe pain. In the final stage, the bones tear out of the joints and cause unspeakable pain.
