Forniphilia
Living furniture is an erotic role-playing game, also known as forniphilia, which occurs in various forms. This sexual practice belongs to the group of BDSM games in which the abdomen is transformed from an upper body into an object of use. Outside of BDSM, a living erotic buffet is sometimes offered at parties, where food is served on the body of a naked woman (less often a man).
Characteristics
In forniphilia, the top uses the bottom as an ashtray, footstool, bench or table, among other things. The bottom may be naked or completely isolated from his surroundings by clothing; he may have to remain in the desired position by being tied up (bondage) or he may assume this position himself. The aim is often to maximise the duration of the game in order to emphasise the object status of the bottom. The bottom does not have to be completely passive. With certain shapes, such as a table, his assistance may be essential if, for example, a wine glass is placed on his back and he has to ensure that it does not tip over.
Common shapes
- Ashtray: There are two variants here: Either the bottom catches the ashes with one or two open hands or the ashes are tapped into the open mouth. In the latter case, some safety precautions must be observed.
- Buffet: As described above, the bottom usually lies naked on a table and is covered with food, which the top or tops then take away. This form is widespread in Japan and can be part of a business meal. There are strict rules of behaviour, e.g. regarding cleaning.
- Footstool and stool: The bottom kneels on all fours or is tied together in a ball, while the top places his feet on top of him. The game therefore contains elements of foot fetishism.
- Candlestick: These forms use elements of wax games: The bottom has to hold candles in his hands or mouth or they are inserted into his orifices.
- Sitting: These forms are usually performed as a bench with a top with a light body weight and a bottom in a quadrupedal position. Using the bottom as a chair with a backrest requires a certain amount of effort. A well-known example of a female bottom converted into an office chair can be found in the works of bondage artist Gord. The related practices of facesitting, queening and smothering are not usually categorised as forniphilia.
- Statue: The bottom is not used directly as a piece of furniture, but as a decorative element or for general display.
- Table: The bottom kneels on all fours, with its back representing the tabletop. Sometimes a board or similar is used as a tabletop to make it easier to place crockery.
- Toilet: The combination of forniphilia with golden showers or scat. The person may be enclosed in a structure or tied up so that they cannot close their mouth, e.g. under a toilet seat.
Elements of the game
The bottom can be tied up in his position, on the one hand to force his passivity, on the other hand to make it easier for him to assume the position. The opposite can be the case if the bottom is tied up in such a way that he has to strain or struggle to maintain the expected position. If the bottom is displayed as a statue, decorative bondage can be used to emphasise certain parts of the body, e.g. through chest bondage.
Games in which the bottom is not allowed to move, comparable to mental bondage, also fall into the area of living furniture.
